Emphasis:
Biological Anthropology

I am a PhD candidate interested in the use of quantitative methods to study demography and population interactions in prehistoric agriculturalists in the American Southwest. By extending an existing agent-based archaeological model, Artificial Anasazi, to include both Long House Valley, AZ and neighboring Black Mesa, I hope to gain greater insight into the role of demographic processes, especially migration, in population dynamics in the region from AD 800 to AD 1350.

Research:

Computational modeling and simulation, bioarchaeology, complex systems, paleodemography, quantitative social science research, prehistory of the southwestern US, prehistory of the southeastern US
