Todd L. VanPool completed his BA in Anthropology at Eastern New Mexico University and his Ph.D. in Anthropology at the University of New Mexico in 2003. His research focuses on the archaeology of southern New Mexico and northern Chihuahua, in particular cultural transmission, evidence of Mesoamerican influence, stone artifact analysis, quantiative analysis of archaeological data, and prehistoric religion. Along with Christine VanPool and Gordon F.M. Rakita, he has led excavations of 76 Draw, a Casas Grandes pueblo south of Deming, New Mexico since 2009. His publications include five books and edited volumes and over 20 articles and book chapters.
