Mary Jo Marquardt I received my B.A. in Anthropology at Pacific Lutheran University. My area of interest is Osteology/Paleanthropology and more specifically, the emergence of the advanced hominid brain in osteological studies. I hope to focus my research on selective pressures on hominid evolutionary intelligence and encephalizaition and the influence the brain had on other post-cranial anatomical structures. I want to know why and how the hominid brain advanced and behaviors that immediately resulted from the advancement. My research interests is functional morphology in early hominid evolution, forensic anthrpology. Fieldwork: Archaeological excavations at the site of La Tiza near Nasca, Peru with Dr. Christina Conlee of Texas State University
